You use roles to manage access control for user accounts in VMware Telco Cloud Operations.

In this procedure, you add a new role and assign administrative permissions to the role.


  1. Navigate to Administration > Access > Profile Management.
  2. Select Roles.
  3. Click Create Role.
  4. Enter the Name of the role.
  5. Provide description about the role in the Description, and click Next.
  6. Enter the Name and Description of the ploicy in Create New tab , or select a Policy from the drop-down in Select Existing tab.
    Note: To add a VMware Telco Cloud Operations role, the administrator must select a policy default_wo_filter. This policy is predefined with an empty filter.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In Permission Assignment, select Operational-UI.
    Note: You can further drill-down in Operational-UI to assign permissions for different features accroding to the need of the user.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Enter Group name in the Group Assignment.
    Note: Group name must match exactly with LDAP/KeyClock Group. Group names are case-sensitive.
  11. Click Finish.
