After you install the application, you may need to modify files as part of the configuration process to update clusteradmin and root password.

The VMware Telco Cloud Operations OVAs come with two built-in user accounts, namely clusteradmin and root (Manual Deployment Process section lists the default password ).

After deployment, it is strongly recommended to follow the given procedure:

  1. To access the VMs, use the clusteradmin account.
  2. Both the passwords are set to expire after every 90 days. It is recommended changing the passwords periodically. If the passwords have expired, you receives the following prompt when you login to the VM. Follow the prompts and change the password.
    $ ssh clusteradmin@VM_IP
    The authenticity of host 'VM_IP (VM_IP)' can't be established.
    ECDSA key fingerprint is SHA256:YmYDGPyeo5ZWAO8oWjKhXXdDceSqEZgIfRgjZ9tT51E.
    Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no/[fingerprint])? yes
    Warning: Permanently added 'VM_IP' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts.
    You are required to change your password immediately (password expired)

    Retype new password:

    Note: You also have option of setting a longer expiry using the Linux change command (refer the main pages on your system for more details). However having them never expire is generally not advisable.
