When you upgrade an ESXi host, vSAN is upgraded automatically. After upgrading all the ESXi hosts, upgrade the vSAN cluster objects such as vSAN on-disk format and vSAN HCL DB.
Note:
The disk format upgrade is optional. If you use a previous disk format version, your vSAN cluster continues to run smoothly. For best results, upgrade to the latest on-disk format that provides the complete feature set of vSAN. For more information, see About the Virtual SAN Disk Format.
Procedure
- ♦(Optional) Upgrade the vSAN Disk Format Using vSphere Client.
Results
vSAN disks are upgraded successfully.
