Upgrading NSX-T Data Center

VMware NSX-T Data Center can be upgraded from version 3.1.0 to 3.1.2.1 using the upgrade coordinator. The upgrade coordinator resides in the NSX Manager and orchestrates the upgrade process of hosts, NSX Edge cluster, NSX Controller cluster, and the management plane. The upgrade process involves upgrading the components in the following sequence: Edges, Hosts, and Management Nodes.

Prerequisites

• Perform the Pre-Upgrade Tasks.

  Important:

  Ensure that you backed up the NSX Manager before upgrading any of the NSX-T components. For backup instructions, see Backing Up and Restoring NSX Manager.

Procedure

1. Review the NSX-T Data Center Upgrade Checklist to track your work on the NSX-T Data Center upgrade process.
2. Prepare your infrastructure for the NSX-T Data Center upgrade.
3. Upgrade NSX-T Data Center.
