Upgrading Telco Cloud Automation

This section describes how to upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation from version 1.9.5 to 2.0.1

Prerequisites

• Ensure that Telco Cloud Automation is connected to the activation server.

• Back up the Telco Cloud Automation Manager and Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane appliances. For instructions, see Backing Up and Restoring the System in the Telco Cloud Automation Deployment Guide.

Procedure

1. Upgrade the Telco Cloud Automation appliance. For instructions, see Upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation in the Telco Cloud Automation User Guide.
2. Upgrade the Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane appliance. For instructions, see Upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane in the Telco Cloud Automation User Guide.
3. (Optional) If the Airgap server is already configured in an Internet-restricted environment in Telco Cloud Automation 1.9.5, follow these steps:
   1. Set up a new airgap server in an Internet-restricted environment in Telco Cloud Automation 2.0.1.
      Caution:

      Ensure that FQDN and IP address of the new airgap server are the same as the existing airgap server installed in the Telco Cloud Automation 1.9.5 environment. For more information, see Prerequisites for Setting Up an Airgap Repository.

   2. Copy the certificates from the existing airgap server to the new airgap server:

      1. Copy the certificates from /etc/docker/certs.d/<folder name with fqdn>/* in the existing airgap server to /root in the newly deployed airgap server.

      2. Provide the full path of the copied certificates in the ansible user-inputs.yaml file. For more information, see Set up the Airgap Server.

   3. Power off the existing airgap server.

What to do next

Verify that the Telco Cloud Automation is upgraded successfully:

1. Open the Telco Cloud Automation web interface.

2. Verify that the dashboard displays the upgraded version number of Telco Cloud Automation.
