To configure vSAN on the Compute Cluster, follow these steps.
For the detailed configuration steps, see Administering VMware vSAN.
Procedure
- In the Compute cluster TCP_COMP_CLUSTER settings, enable vSAN.
- To create the vSAN disk group, select all the magnetic disks and flash drives of each ESXi host, and add them to the vSAN cluster.
- Name the vSAN datastore TCP_COMP_VSAN_DS.
- Verify that the hosts can see TCP_COMP_VSAN_DS.
What to do next
After configuring vSAN, do the following tasks:
Verify that ESXi_COMP_01 through ESXi_COMP_04 are participated in configuring vSAN datastore creation and consumed hard disks from each ESXi host.
Verify that the vSAN datastore TCP_COMP_VSAN_DS is visible to all four hosts in the cluster.
Create a test VM on the vSAN datastore.
Run the vSAN Skyline health check to verify that vSAN is configured properly.
Note:If you find any errors during the verification, ensure that the errors are fixed before you proceed with the next steps.
Delete the test VM on the vSAN datastore.
