Install the Management vCenter Server Instance

Install a vCenter Server instance in the management cluster. This procedure follows the GUI mode in the vCenter Server installer to deploy the vCenter Server Appliance.

For installation steps, see Overview of the vSphere Installation and Setup Process.

Procedure

1. Deploy vCenter Server Appliance TCP_MGMT_VC on an NFS datastore. For more information, see GUI Deployment of the vCenter Server Appliance.

   If you do not have the NFS datastore, deploy the vCenter Server on a single-host vSAN cluster. During Stage 1 of the vCenter Server deployment, when you select a datastore, click 'Install on a new vSAN cluster containing the target host'.

2. Deploy the vCenter Server Appliance TCP_MGMT_VC. For more information, see GUI Deployment of the vCenter Server Appliance.
