The deployment of Aria Operations is a single instance of a 3-node analytics cluster that is deployed in the management cluster along with a two-node remote collector group.

The analytics cluster of the Aria Operations deployment contains a three-node Aria Operations analytics cluster that consists of one primary node, one replica node, and one data node to enable scale-out and high availability.

For more information about the design, see Getting Started with VMware Aria Operations Guide.

Prerequisites

  • Download a copy of the Aria Operations OVA file.

  • Verify that the FQDNs of the primary node and primary replica nodes are registered in the DNS server for forward and reverse proxy. Verify that the FQDNs and IP addresses of the primary node and primary replica nodes can be resolved using nslookup.

  • Confirm that the user has the permission to deploy an OVF template to the inventory.

  • Verify that the networking requirements are completed.

  • See Preparing for Installation to verify that all requirements are met.

Procedure

  1. Deploy the Aria Operations appliance TCP_ARIAOPS_PRIMARY on the management cluster TCP_MGMT_CLUSTER in standalone mode as the primary node.
  2. Deploy the Aria Operations appliance TCP_ARIAOPS_REPLICA and TCP_ARIAOPS_DATA1 on the cluster TCP_MGMT_CLUSTER as the data node, where TCP_ARIAOPS_REPLICA functions as the primary replica. For more information, see Create a Node by Deploying an OVF.
  3. Deploy two standard-size remote collector virtual appliances TCP_ARIAOPS_RC1 and TCP_ARIAOPS_RC2. For more information, see Create a Node by Deploying an OVF.
  4. Connect all the appliances to the Management Network port group.

For detailed installation steps, see Installing Aria Operations.
