To enable connectivity and network isolation to the virtual infrastructure, configure the physical switches for the Management, Edge, and Compute Clusters.
Procedure
- Configure the VLAN IDs on the two physical switches.
Note:
The following VLAN IDs are only indicative and used only to describe the deployment steps. Replace them with VLAN IDs that fit the network design of your environment.

- Configure ToR switches to terminate the vSphere vMotion and vSAN networks.
- Configure the MTU size to a jumbo frame value on all assigned network ports.
MTU jumbo frame values vary by manufacturer. For example, to configure the MTU size of the Guest OS to 8900 bytes, you must configure the MTU size of the Physical switch to 9000 bytes.
