Enable vSAN on the Edge cluster and create a datastore to use as a shared storage.

For detailed configuration steps, see Administering VMware vSAN.

Procedure

  1. Enable vSAN for the cluster TCP_EDGE_CLUSTER.
  2. To create the vSAN disk group, select all the magnetic disks and flash drives of each ESXi host, and add them to the vSAN cluster.
  3. Name the vSAN datastore TCP_EDGE_VSAN_DS.

What to do next

After configuring vSAN, do the following tasks:

  1. Verify that all ESXi hosts participated in the vSAN datastore creation and the vSAN datastore consumed hard disks from each ESXi host.

  2. Verify that the vSAN datastore TCP_EDGE_VSAN_DS is visible to all three hosts in the cluster.

  3. Create a test VM on the vSAN datastore.

  4. Verify that vSAN is configured properly.

    Note:

Run the vSAN Skyline health check in the vCenter UI (vSphere Cluster > Monitor > vSAN > SkylineHealth. If you find any errors during the verification, ensure that the errors are fixed before you proceed with the next steps.

  5. Delete the test VM on the vSAN datastore.
