Using Bare Metal Automation for VMware Telco Cloud Platform

VMware Bare Metal Automation (BMA) for VMware Telco Cloud Platform does not support direct upgrade from one release to another. If BMA was installed in Telco Cloud Platform 3.1 and you want to continue using BMA in Telco Cloud Platform 4.0 or 4.0.1, follow this procedure.

Note:

• If you are upgrading Telco Cloud Platform from 3.0 to 4.0 or 4.0.1, this procedure does not apply. You can use BMA in Telco Cloud Platform 4.0 or 4.0.1 by doing a fresh installation. For instructions, see Using Bare Metal Automation in the Telco Cloud Platform Deployment Guide.

Procedure

1. Install BMA 4.0.
2. Export the workflows from BMA 3.1 and import those workflows to BMA 4.0.
3. Backport any specific configurations manually from BMA 3.1 to BMA 4.0.
4. Uninstall BMA 3.1.
