Install the Management vCenter Instance

Install a vCenter instance on the management cluster. This procedure follows the GUI mode in the vCenter installer to deploy the vCenter Appliance.

Procedure

• ♦Deploy the vCenter Appliance (TCP_MGMT_VC) on an NFS datastore or the local storage of an ESXi host by using the appliance installer. For more information, see GUI Deployment of the vCenter Appliance.
  Note:

  • You can use the embedded Platform Service Controller for vCenter deployment.

  • If you do not have the NFS datastore, deploy the vCenter on a single-host vSAN cluster. During Stage 1 of the vCenter deployment, when you select a datastore, click 'Install on a new vSAN cluster containing the target host'.

  • The appliance uses the default embedded database.
