Initiating manual or autodiscovery

The IP Manager provides two options for initiating a manual discovery. Both options are initiated through the Domain Manager Administration Console:

• Option 1: Import a seed file that lists one or more seed systems to be added to the topology. This option is best for adding a set of systems.

• Option 2: Add seed systems to the topology one at a time by using the Add Agent command. This option is best for adding a small number of systems.

  When autodiscovery is enabled, use either option to initiate the autodiscovery process. When enabled and initiated, autodiscovery will occur whenever either a full discovery occurs or a system on the Pending Devices list is successfully discovered.
