You need to place the license file in <BASEDIR>/smarts/local/conf in the installation directory of the license server.

Use the following command to read the new license:

<BASEDIR>/smarts/bin/lmutil lmreread -c port@license_server

or

<BASEDIR>/smarts/bin/system/lmutil lmreread -c port@license_server
