After an NCI is found for an incoming notification, clearing behaviors are performed as discussed in the previous section. After any clearing is done, the notification may have a delay prior to checking Causes, Aggregates, and getting published. This delay is set in the NCI (in the Publish Delay field in the figure and is specified in seconds. For example, if you set a publish delay for 60 seconds, that means that the notification will be held for a minute before any further NCI processing is performed. If a clearing comes in during that minute, then the notification will be discarded.
