The “Occurring on the same instance” causality relationship in the NOTIF Editor allows a notification on an instance to be set to cause another notification on the same instance. For example, consider the creation of a notification PowerSupply::network:86.2.2.2:PowerSupply-1::Down (note this has class, instance, and eventName elements). Assume the corresponding NCI indicates this notification causes PowerSupply-1.NotRespondingToAgent notifications. The PowerSupply-1.Down notification is set to cause the PowerSupply-1.NotRespondingToAgent notification on the same instance, PowerSupply-1.
