The IP tagging feature enables IP Availability Managerto discover and create IP objects for both VRF and non-VRF overlapping IP addresses, where a non-VRF overlapping IP address is defined as an overlapping IP address that is not part of an MPLS VPN.
The MPLS Topology Serveris able to understand VRF IP objects that have been tagged by IP Availability Manager.
For an IP object that is created for a discovered VRF IP address, IP Availability Managertags the object with the route distinguisher (RD) value of the VRF to which the VRF IP address belongs. IP Availability Manageralso creates a corresponding IPNetwork object and tags it with the same value that is used to tag the IP object. And, for both tagged IP and IPNetwork objects, IP Availability Managersets the object’s Tag attribute to the tag value that is used to tag the object.
The IP tagging feature is described in the IP Manager Concepts Guideand the IP Manager User Guide. Instructions for enabling the IP tagging feature are given in “Enabling overlapping IP address discovery” on page 77.
