Discovery types

The MPLS Topology Server performs the following types of discovery:

• MPLS discovery

• L2VPN discovery

• L3VPN discovery

• BGP discovery (optional)

  During the discovery process, the first three discoveries and the optional BGP discovery run in parallel. During the postprocessing phase, the discovery process (1) associates the discovered L2VPN and L3VPN topology with the discovered MPLS topology and (2) associates the discovered L3VPN topology with the discovered BGP topology if MPLS-BGP cross-domain correlation is enabled.
