The topology synchronization program probes for topology immediately after an IP Availability Manager is added as a topology source, and then every time thereafter whenever:

The IP Availability Manager completes a discovery cycle.
Note:Assumes StopAutoAMSync parameter in mpls.conf file is FALSE (default).

The connection to IP Availability Manager is lost and then reestablished.
Each time that an IP Availability Manager completes a discovery cycle, the MPLS Topology Server performs the following incremental discovery:

Compares the current IP Availability Manager topology with the previously imported topology.

Conducts discovery only on new devices, or on known devices that have a newer discovery timestamp.
