TE tunnels are point-to-point virtual paths between headend and tailend routing devices in an MPLS network. The routing devices may be Provider Edge (PE) or Provider (P) devices. A TE tunnel is associated with one or more TE LSPs.
MPLS Manager discovers the following types of TE tunnels:
-
Link- and node-protected TE tunnels
MPLS Manager discovers the primary and backup TE LSPs for TE tunnels that have been configured for link and node protection.
-
Path-protected TE tunnels
MPLS Manager discovers the primary and secondary TE LSPs for TE tunnels that have been configured for path protection.
