Network Protocol Manager for BGP supports the creation and analysis of system redundancy groups. Each group is composed of two or more routers and their interfaces.
For example, an autonomous system that has two Route Reflector (RR) routers can be modeled as a system redundancy group that contains the two routers. If one RR router experiences a failure, the passing of learned routes within the autonomous system is not interrupted but is less resilient to additional failures. A failure in the other RR router totally interrupts the passing of learned routes in the autonomous system.
By default, Network Protocol Manager for BGP does not create system redundancy groups. However, by using discovery hook scripts, you can configure Network Protocol Manager for BGP to create system redundancy groups after the initial discovery of the BGP routers.
