Network Protocol Manager provides the following two ASL discovery hook script files that are common to all Network Protocol Manager applications:

  • custom-end-system.asl

  • custom-end-post.asl

These two files are located in the following directories of the Network Protocol Manager installation area:

  • BASEDIR/smarts/rules/bgp/custom

  • (intended for Network Protocol Manager for BGP)

  • BASEDIR/smarts/rules/eigrp/custom

  • (intended for Network Protocol Manager for EIGRP)

  • BASEDIR/smarts/rules/isis/custom

  • (intended for Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS)

  • BASEDIR/smarts/rules/ospf/custom

  • (intended for Network Protocol Manager for OSPF)

The files are invoked at the following points during Network Protocol Manager discovery:

  • The custom-end-system.asl script runs after initial device discovery and before discovery postprocessing.

  • The custom-end-post.asl script runs after discovery postprocessing.
