Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS diagnoses root-cause problems and detects (computes) events from status updates acquired in the following ways:
-
By subscribing to IS-IS-relevant status updates from IP Availability Manager
-
By using SNMP and CLI polling to gather status information from the IS-IS-enabled devices
Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS correlates these events to diagnose root-cause problems.
Note:Events used as symptoms to diagnose a root-cause problem can also be perceived as impacts that are caused by the problem.
The Global Manager imports:
-
All problems that are diagnosed by Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS.
-
Key events that are detected by Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS.
The root-cause problem notifications (one problem per notification) and the event notifications (one event per notification) are displayed in the Global Console.
