Network Protocol Manager for OSPF supports the creation and analysis of system redundancy groups. Each group is composed of two or more routers and their interfaces.

For example, an OSPF area accessed through two Area Border Router (ABR) routers can be modeled as a system redundancy group that contains the two routers. If one ABR router experiences a failure, access to the OSPF area is not interrupted but is less resilient to additional failures. A failure in the other ABR router makes the OSPF area inaccessible.

By default, Network Protocol Manager for OSPF does not create system redundancy groups. However, by using discovery hook scripts, you can configure Network Protocol Manager for OSPF to create system redundancy groups after the initial discovery of the OSPF routers.
