For storage requirements of the Backup and Restore, follow your organization or the IT department policies, such as how many backups to store and for what duration.
The backups are stored in two modes:
- Within the cluster: By default backups are stored in the persistent volumes which are within the cluster.
- Outside the cluster: The backups are stored in AWS S3 or vSAN which is external to the Kubernetes cluster.
