You can create catalogs to keep track of data collected through the Data Collector Framework. Additionally, you can use the Catalog feature to add catalog for the third party collectors data to map specific metric data into the VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance models for reporting.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://Telcocloud serviceassurance-ui-IP.
    A typical URL for logging in to the user interface from the same system on which VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance is installed is, https://10.x.x.x.
  2. Enter the user name and password.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Navigate to the Administration > Configuration tab.
  5. Click Catalogs.
    The Catalogs details page is displayed.
  6. Click Add metric, and provide following information:
  7. Select Add metric, and provide following information:
    1. Enter the metric name in the Name field.
    2. Enter the description about the new metric type in the Description field.
    3. Choose from the following:
      1. Select Upload file > Select catalog file to upload a catalog mapping file from drop-down menu, and click Save.
        Note: You must upload a valid catalog mapping file from your local system, which must have all the mapping elements information, similar to Form elements. The file validator does not allow you to upload an invalid catalog mapping file.
      2. Select Form, and continue with the following procedure.
    4. Select the domain details in the Domain drop-down.
    5. Select the sub-domain from the Sub domain drop-down.
    6. Click Add in the Properties section and provide the following details:
      1. Enter the entity name in the Name field.
      2. Enter the description about the property in the Description field.
      3. Click Add property.
    7. Click Add in the Entries section and provide the following details:
      1. Enter the property name in the Name field.
      2. Enter the unit information in the Unit field.
      3. Enter the description about the entry in the Description field.
      4. Click Add entry.
    8. Click Add in the Tag section and provide the following details:
      1. Enter the tag name in the Name field.
      2. Enter the description about the tag in the Description field.
      3. Click Add tag.
  8. Click Save.
