The Baseline and Anomaly detection analytics solution in VMware Telco Cloud Service Assuranceis a step towards machine learning approach for operations management.
In VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance, baseline and anomaly computations are performed in a stream processing engine. The algorithms are run on any stream of metrics that VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance collects from native collectors and also gateway sources like Domain Manager.
VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance establishes a baseline on all metrics that VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance collects. For anomalies, VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance allows user to define the definitions through Administration UI. The baseline and anomaly results are persisted in a metric store which can be viewed through VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance reporting. In addition, VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance also generates Notifications for each anomaly which can be viewed in the VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance Notification Console.
