The VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance UI supports PING and SSH for all device notifications.

A new service called VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance Tools (TCSA Tools) is added to support PING and SSH. The VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance Tools container exposes a web terminal for executing the PING and SSH commands.

Perform the following steps to view PING or SSH.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://Telcocloud serviceassurance-ui-IP.
A typical default URL for logging in to the user interface from the same system on which VMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance is installed is, https://10.x.x.x.
  2. On the login screen, enter your username and password.
  3. Click Next.
    The Notification Console opens.
  4. Select and right-click the desired notification, and click PING or SSH.

When you select PING or SSH action, a new browser terminal appears and executes the ping or ssh command for the related host.

In the SSH console screenshot, the host is not enabled. You can enable SSH in the host and run the required commands through the web browser terminal.

    Note:
    • If ElementName attribute is not the IPAdress or Host DNS Name, PING and SSH will fail. In this scenario, you need to modify and issue the ping.
    • If the notification is having the Element name empty, ssh and ping actions should just launch terminal. Further you can enter the PING or SSH command with related IPAddress of the device.
    • When you click SSH action, by default it opens with tools user name. If you are having different user name apart from default, then you need to enter different user name and login.
