Preparing IP Availability Manager for discovery starts with seed systems, which serve as a starting point for autodiscovery. Autodiscovery automatically discovers the managed network from the seed systems. Procedures for preparing and initiating autodiscovery are given in the Smarts IP Manager User Guide.
In addition, an administrator performs the following configuration tasks that are described in the Smarts MPLS Manager Configuration Guide to prepare IP Availability Manager for discovery in an MPLS Manager deployment:
-
Enables MPLS light discovery (mandatory in most cases).
-
Enables BGP light discovery for MPLS-BGP cross-domain correlation (optional).
-
Enables overlapping IP address discovery (optional).
-
Enables interoperability with the MPLS VPN-Tagging Server (optional).
-
Creates CLI device-access objects for MPLS Manager (mandatory).
