User systems that are occasionally or always offline benefit from the decentralized mode.

Decentralized mode involves deploying an application package to physical desktops. Active Directory or third-party SDSs can deploy application packages to user desktops. The package can be on the local file system or a USB device.

Each user desktop receives and runs the application package locally without network connectivity. The application performance is predictable because it is not dependent on network availability.

The decentralized mode includes the following requirements:
  • Occasional access to a network connection for updating the application packages.
  • Adequate availability of local storage on the user desktop.
