The appInfo plug-in collects information about applications running inside the guest and publishes that information to the management layers. This plug-in is installed by default as a part of the ‘VMware Tools’ installation inside the virtual machine (VM).
The plug-in can be managed (enabled or disabled) at both VM and Host levels.
