Two external Platform Services Controller instances must be deployed in Region A. The first instance is associated with the management cluster and the second with the shared edge and compute cluster. Both instances belong to the same SSO domain for Identity Management. Work through this procedure twice, using the vCenter Server appliance ISO file and the customized data for each instance.
Procedure
- Log in to the Windows host that has access to your data center as an administrator.
- Start the vCenter Server Appliance Installer wizard.
- Browse to the vCenter Server Appliance ISO file.
- Open the <dvd-drive>:\vcsa-ui-installer\win32\Installer.exe application file.
- Complete Stage 1 of the vCenter Server Appliance Deployment wizard.
- Click Install to start the installation.
- Click Next on the Introduction page.
- On the End user license agreement page, select the I accept the terms of the license agreement check box, and click Next.
- On the Select deployment type page, click Platform Services Controller and click Next.
- On the Appliance deployment target page, enter the following settings and click Next.

- In the Certificate Warning dialog box, click Yes to accept the host certificate.

- On the Ready to complete stage 1 page, review the configuration and click Finish to start the deployment.
- When the deployment completes, click Continue to proceed to second stage of the installation, setting up the Platform Services Controller Appliance.
- Complete Stage 2 of the Set Up Platform Services Controller Appliance wizard.
- Click Next on the Introduction page.
- On the Appliance configuration page, enter the following settings and click Next.

- On the SSO Site Name page, select Join an existing site radio button, choose SFO01 from the SSO site name drop-down menu, and click Next. This page appears only during the deployment of the second Platform Services Controller.
- On the Configure CEIP page, verify that the Join the VMware's Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) check box is checked and click Next.
- On the Ready to complete page, review the configuration and click Finish to complete the setup.
- Click OK on the Warning.
- When the installation completes, click Close.
- Repeat this procedure for each platform services controller, using the respective values for each.
