Before you deploy the NSX Components of the Shared Edge and Compute Cluster in Region B, verify that your environment satisfies the requirements for this deployment.

IP Addresses and Host Names

Verify that static IP addresses and FQDNs for the management networks are available for the SDDC deployment.

Allocate static IP addresses and FQDNs for the NSX Manager, NSX Controller nodes, and components.

Deployment Prerequisites

Verify that your environment satisfies the following prerequisites for the deployment of Platform Services Controller and vCenter Server.

  • Required storage per NSX Manager:
    • Initial storage for the NSX Manager: 60 GB
  • Required storage per NSX Controller nodes and Components.
    • Storage requirement: 240 GB
Software Features
  • Verify that vCenter is Operational.
Installation Package
  • Download the .iso file for the NSX Manager.
License
  • Verify that you have obtained NSX license with a quantity that satisfies the requirements of this design.
Active Directory
  • Verify that you have a parent active directory with the SDDC user roles configured for the rainpole.local domain.
Certificate Authority
  • Configure the root Active Directory domain controller as a certificate authority for the environment.
  • Download the CertGenVVD tool and generate the signed certificate for the NSX Manager. See the VMware Validated Design Planning and Preparation documentation.
