Before you deploy the Platform Services Controllers and vCenter Server components in Region B, verify that your environment satisfies the requirements.

IP Addresses and Host Names

Verify that static IP addresses and FQDNs for the management networks are available for the SDDC deployment.

Allocate the required IP addresses and FQDNs:
  • Two static IP addresses and FQDNs for the Platform Services Controllers.
  • One static IP address and FQDN for the Platform Services Controller load balancer.
  • One static IP address and FQDN for the Management vCenter Server.

Deployment Prerequisites

Verify that your environment satisfies the following prerequisites for the deployment of Platform Services Controller and vCenter Server.

Prerequisite Value
Storage
  • Virtual disk provisioning.
    • Thin
  • Required storage per vCenter Server:
    • Initial storage for the vCenter Server: 270 GB
Required storage per Platform Services Controller node.
    • Initial storage for Platform Services Controller: 60 GB
Software Features
  • Verify that SSH is enabled on ESXi Hosts.
Installation Package
  • Download the .iso file for the vCenter Server and Platform Services Controller.
License
  • Verify that you have obtained vCloud Suite license with a quantity that satisfies the requirements of this design.
Active Directory
  • Verify that you have a parent active directory with the SDDC user roles configured for the rainpole.local domain.
Certificate Authority
  • Configure the root Active Directory domain controller as a certificate authority for the environment.
  • Download the CertGenVVD tool and generate the signed certificate for the vCenter Server and Platform Services Controller nodes. See the VMware Validated Design Planning and Preparation documentation.
