First create a local environment on vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, and use it to deploy vRealize Log Insight.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager user interface.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://vrslcm01svr01a.rainpole.local/vrlcm.
    2. Log in using the following credentials.
      Setting Value

  2. On the Home page, click Create Environment, to start a new deployment.
  3. On the Create Environment page, enter the following information, and click Next.

    Administrator Email deployment_admin_email
    Default Password deployment_admin_password
    Confirm Default Password deployment_admin_password

  4. On the Product Details page, click the vRealize Log Insight tab.
  5. Enter the following settings, and click Next.

    Deployment Type Small
  6. Read the EULA, select the I agree to the terms and conditions check box, and click Next.
  7. On the License Details page, add or select the vRealize Suite license.
    1. From the drop-down menu provided through the My VMware product entitlement, select Select vRealize Suite License, select the license, and click Next.
    2. Or select Add vRealize Suite License, provide the vRealize Suite or vCloud Suite License key, and click Next.
  8. Enter the following settings for Infrastructure, and click Next.

    Select Cluster lax01-m01-mgmt01 (lax01-m01dc)
    Select Network Distributed port group that ends with Mgmt-RegionB01-VXLAN

  9. Enter the following settings for Network, and click Next.

  10. Use Generated Certificate, and click Next.
  11. Enter the following settings for Product Properties.

    Node Size Medium
    Configure Cluster Virtual IPs Selected
    FQDN lax01vrli01.lax01.rainpole.local
    Virtual IP Address 192.168.32.10
  12. Click Add+ and add two more vRealize Log Insight Worker Nodes
  13. Enter the following settings for vrli-master.

    VM Name lax01vrli01a
    Hostname lax01vrli01a.lax01.rainpole.local
    IP Address 192.168.32.11
  14. Enter the following settings for vrli-worker.   
    Option Value
    VM Name lax01vrli01b
    Hostname lax01vrli01b.lax01.rainpole.local
    IP Address 192.168.32.12
  15. Enter the following settings for vrli-worker-2.   
    Option Value
    VM Name lax01vrli01c
    Hostname lax01vrli01c.lax01.rainpole.local
    IP Address 192.168.32.13
  16. On the Products Details page, click Next.
  17. On the Pre Check Details page, click RUN PRE CHECK. Wait for all pre-validation successful messages and click Next.
  18. On the Request Summary page, review the configuration details.
  19. (Optional) To back up the deployment configuration. Click Download Configuration.
  20. Click Submit to create the environment.
