Set an identity of your SDDC deployment on vCenter Server. You can also use this identity as a label in tools for automated SDDC deployment.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Web Client.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://nyc01r01vc01.rainpole.local/vsphere-client.
    2. Log in using the following credentials.

  2. From the Home menu of the vSphere Web Client, select Global Inventory Lists.
  3. In the Navigator, click vCenter Servers under Resources.
  4. Click the nyc01r01vc01.rainpole.local vCenter Server object and click the Configure tab in the central pane.
  5. Under the Settings pane, click Advanced Settings and click the Edit button.
  6. In the Edit Advanced vCenter Server Settings dialog box, set the following value pairs one by one, clicking Add after each entry.

    Note:

    * To generate a unique identifier, use the Online UUID Generator website https://www.uuidgenerator.net/ and copy/paste the UUID into the config.SDDC.Deployed.InstanceId value. The Online UUID Generator is a universally unique identifier that generates random numbers using a secure random number generator.

  7. Click OK to close the window.
