After you deploy vRealize Operations Manager remote collectors using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, change the password for the root user on each vRealize Operations Manager virtual appliance in ROBO.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Web Client.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://nyc01r01vc01.rainpole.local/vsphere-client.
    2. Log in using the following credentials.

  2. From the Home menu, select VMs and Templates.
  3. Navigate to the inventory folder of the nyc01vropsc01a virtual appliance.

  4. Change the password for the root user.
    1. Right-click the vRealize Operations Manager virtual appliance and select Open Console.
    2. Press ALT+F1 to switch to the command prompt.
    3. Log in with the following credentials.

    4. Run the following command.
      passwd
    5. Update the root user password.

      New password:

      vrops_root_password

      Retype new password:

      vrops_root_password

  5. Repeat the procedure to change the password for the root user on the remaining vRealize Operations Manager virtual appliance in ROBO.
