The analytics cluster of the vRealize Operations Manager deployment contains the nodes that analyze and store data from the monitored components. You deploy a configuration of the analytics cluster that satisfies the requirements for monitoring the number of virtual machines in the design objectives of this validated design.

Deploy a 2-node vRealize Operations Manager remote collector cluster in each ROBO.

Design Implication

Deploy two remote collector nodes per ROBO.

Provides collection of metrics from applications within the management or ROBO location.

You must assign a collector group when configuring the monitoring of a solution.

Apply vSphere Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) anti-affinity rules to the remote collectors.

Using vSphere DRS prevents the remote collector nodes from running on the same ESXi host and risking their availability.

  • You must perform additional configuration to set up an anti-affinity rule.
