Before you perform the upgrade of vRealize Operations Manager, take the nodes in the cluster offline and take a snapshot of each node. If you must perform a rollback of vRealize Operations Manager to the previous state, these snapshots accelerate the rollback operation.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the vRealize Operations Manager administrator interface on the master node of your analytics cluster.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://vrops01svr01а.rainpole.local/admin.
    2. Log in using the following credentials.

  2. Take all vRealize Operations Manager nodes in the cluster offline.
    1. In the Navigator, click System Status.
    2. On the System Status page, under Cluster Status click Take Offline.
    3. In the Take Cluster Offline dialog, enter VMware Validated Design 4.3 Operations Management Layer Upgrade in the Reason text box and click OK.
  3. Wait until all vRealize Operations Manager nodes in the cluster are offline and the Cluster Status becomes Offline.
  4. Log in to the Management vCenter Server by using the vSphere Web Client.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local/vsphere-client.
    2. Log in using the following credentials.

  5. Take a snapshot for each vRealize Operations Manager node.
    1. From the Home menu, select VMs and Templates.
    2. In the Navigator, expand the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local > sfo01-m01dc > sfo01-m01fd-vrops tree.
    3. Right-click the vrops01svr01a virtual machine and select Snapshots > Take Snapshot.
    4. In the Take VM Snapshot dialog box, enter the following settings and click OK.
