After you have successfully upgraded vSphere Replication and Site Recovery Manager in Region A and Region B, you must reconnect the protected and the recovery site pair to reenable disaster recovery protection for the management components of the SDDC.

Procedure

  1. Log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Web Client.
    1. Open a Web browser and go to https://sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local/vsphere-client/.
    2. Log in by using the following credentials.
      Setting Value
      User name administrator@vsphere.local
      Password vsphere_admin_password
  2. From the Home menu, select Site Recovery.
  3. On the Site Recovery page, locate the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local site and click OPEN Site Recovery.
    The Site Recovery home page opens.
  4. On the Site Recovery home page, under the dual region site pair, click the View Details button.
  5. Reconnect the Site Recovery Manager instances between the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local and lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local sites.
    1. On the Site Recovery home page, from the drop-down menu select sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local.
    2. Under the Site Pair tab, on the Summary page, click the Reconfigure Site Pair button.
      The Reconfigure Site Pair dialog box appears.
    3. On the Platform Services Controller page, under First site, select sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local.
    4. On the Platform Services Controller page, under Second site, select Platform Services Controller, enter the following settings, and click Next.

      PSC host name lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local
      PSC port 443
      User name svc-srm@rainpole.local
      Password svc-srm_password
    5. In the Security Alert dialog box, review the certificate thumbprint for lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local and click Connect.
    6. On the Services to reconfigure page, under Second site, select lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local.
    7. On the Services to reconfigure page, under Select the services you want to recofigure, select Site Recovery Manager and click Next
    8. On Ready to complete page, validate the settings and click Finish.
    Under the Site Pair tab, on the Summary page, Remote SRM connection shows Connected state for the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local and lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local sites
  6. Reconnect the vSphere Replication instances between the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local and lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local sites.
    1. On the Site Recovery home page, from the drop-down menu select sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local.
    2. Under the Site Pair tab, on the Summary page, click the Reconfigure Site Pair button.
      The Reconfigure Site Pair dialog box appears.
    3. On the Platform Services Controller page, under First site, select sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local.
    4. On the Platform Services Controller page, under Second site, select Platform Services Controller, enter the following settings, and click Next.

      PSC host name lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local
      PSC port 443
      User name svc-vr@rainpole.local
      Password svc-vr_password
    5. In the Security Alert dialog box, review the certificate thumbprint for lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local and click Connect.
    6. On the Services to reconfigure page, under Second site, select lax01psc01.lax01.rainpole.local.
    7. On the Services to reconfigure page, under Select the services you want to recofigure, select vSphere Replication and click Next
    8. On Ready to complete page, review the settings and click Finish.
    Under the Site Pair tab, on the Summary page, Remote VR connection shows Connected state for the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local and lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local sites
