Take Snapshots of the Management vCenter Server and the Platform Services Controller Instances in Region A and Region B

Before you perform the update, take snapshots of the Management vCenter Server appliance and the Platform Services Controller appliances in Region A and Region B. If you must perform a rollback to the previous state, these snapshots accelerate a rollback operation.

Procedure

1. In a Web browser, log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Client.

2. In the VMs and templates inventory, expand the sfo01m01vc01.sfo01.rainpole.local tree and expand the sfo01-m01dc data center.
3. Expand the sfo01-m01fd-mgmt folder.
4. Right-click sfo01m01vc01 and select Snapshots > Take Snapshot.
5. In the Take VM Snapshot page, enter the following settings and click OK.

6. Repeat the procedure for the Platform Service Controller instances in Region A, and for the Management vCenter Server and all Platform Services Controller appliances in Region B.
