After you update SDDC Manager from 4.1 to 4.1.0.1, you finish the update of VMware Cloud Foundation from 4.1 to 4.1.0.1 by updating all ESXi hosts in the SDDC. You download and apply the necessary update bundle from SDDC Manager.

Procedure

  1. In a Web browser, log in to SDDC Manager in Region A by using the user interface.

  2. In the navigation pane, click Lifecycle management > Bundle management.
  3. On the Bundles tab, locate the VMware Software Update 4.1.0.1 bundle that contains upgrade software for VMware ESXi 7.0 patch release Update 1b, and click Download now for the bundle.
  4. In the navigation pane, click Inventory > Workload domains.
  5. Click the management domain, sfo-m01, and click the Update/Patches tab.
  6. Validate the environment for the update.
    1. In the Precheck panel, click Precheck.
    2. To see the detailed tasks and their status, click View status.
    3. To see the details for a task, expand the arrow for the task.
    4. When all prechecks finish with Succeeded messages, click Exit details.
  7. In the Available updates panel, locate the VMware Software Update 4.1.0.1 bundle that contains upgrade software for VMware ESXi 7.0 patch release Update 1b and click Update now for the bundle.
  8. In the Shedule update wizard, configure the update details.
    1. On the Select clusters page, configure these settings and click Next.

    3. On the Review page, click Finish.
  9. Monitor the update process.
    1. In the In-progress updates panel, click View status.
    2. To see the detailed tasks and their status, under sfo-m01-cl01, expand the arrows.
    3. Verify that the update finishes displaying a green bar with a check mark.
    4. Click Exit details.
  10. In the Current versoins panel, verify that the version information for sfo-m01-cl01 is All hosts on 7.0.1.
  11. Repeat 4 to 10 for the ESXi hosts in the workload domain vSphere cluster.
