Install the NSX-T Edge software on the bare-metal servers and connect them to the NSX-T network infrastructure so that tenant workloads can use dynamic routing and other services in the workload domain.
Procedure
Install the NSX-T Edge Software on the Bare-Metal Servers Use the automated installation of NSX-T Edge on the bare-metal servers because it automatically configures the edge node according to the hardware configuration and most frequent edge configuration. After the installation is complete, you configure the management interface of the nodes as out-of-band or as in-band and provide the final IP configuration of the management interface.
Complete the Network Configuration of and Enable SSH Access to the Bare-Metal NSX-T Edge Nodes Make the nodes accessible by FQDN, configure the settings for connection to an NTP server to enable synchronized communication with the NSX-T Manager and transport nodes, and enable edge remote management by using a command-line interface over SSH.
Join the Bare-Metal NSX-T Edge Nodes to the Management Plane In VMware Cloud Foundation , after you deploy the bare-metal NSX-T Edge nodes in the NSX-T workload domain, to connect them to the NSX-T Manager cluster, join them to the management plane.
Integrate the Bare-Metal NSX-T Edge Nodes into the Virtual Network Infrastructure of the Workload Domain After the bare-metal NSX-T Edge nodes become accessible from the NSX-T Manager instance in the workload domain, to enable the use of their services in tenant workloads, such as dynamic routing and load balancing, connect the edge nodes to the virtual network units for the workload domain.
