After the initial start, use the ESXi Direct Console User Interface (DCUI) to configure the management network on the appliance of the vSAN witness host in VMware Cloud Foundation.
Procedure
- In a Web browser, log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Client.
Settings Value URL https://lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local/ui User name administrator@vsphere.local Password vsphere_admin_password - In the Hosts and clusters inventory, expand the lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local tree and expand the lax01-m01dc data center.
- Open the Direct Console User Interface (DCUI) on the vSAN witness appliance.
- Right-click the sfo03w01vsanw01 virtual machine, and click Open remote console.
- To enter the DCUI, press F2.
- Log in by using the following credentials.
Setting Value User name root Password vsan_witness_root_password
- Configure the VLAN ID for the management network.
- Select Configure management network and press Enter.
- Select VLAN and press Enter.
- Set the VLAN ID to 1711.
- To exit, press Escape , and to confirm the changes, press Y.
- Enable SSH on the vSAN witness host appliance.
- On the main screen of the DCUI, select Troubleshooting Options and press Enter.
- Select Enable SSH and press Enter.
- To exit the Troubleshooting Options, press Escape.
- Close the remote console to the vSAN witness appliance.
