Network configuration with IP Pools is optional in Workspace ONE Access. You can manually add IP pools to the Workspace ONE Access virtual appliance after the appliance is installed.

IP Pools act like DHCP servers to assign IP addresses from the pool to the VMware Workspace ONE Access virtual appliance. To use IP Pools, you edit the virtual appliance networking properties to change the properties to dynamic properties and configure the netmask, gateway, and DNS settings.

Prerequisites

The virtual appliance must be powered off.

Procedure

  1. In the vSphere Client, select the VMware Workspace ONE Access virtual appliance to update.
  2. Select Configure and navigate to the Settings > vApp Options > Properties pane.
  3. Configure each of the following keys.
    • vami.DNS.IdentityManager
    • vami.netmask0.IdentityManager
    • vami.gateway.IdentityManager
    1. Select one of the keys and click Edit.
    2. In the Edit property dialog box, select Type and then select Dynamic Property.
    3. Select the appropriate value from the drop down menu for Netmask, Gateway Address, and DNS Servers respectively.
    4. Click OK, and click OK again.
    5. Repeat these steps to configure each key.
  4. Power on the virtual appliance.
