To troubleshoot problems with the upgrade to VMware Identity Manager connector, check the installation log file, vIDM_Connector_Installer.log, which is created in the connector installer directory during upgrade.

For information about other connector log files, see Viewing and Downloading VMware Identity Manager Connector Log Files.

Tailing Connector Log Files

You can tail log files to view the bottom n number of lines from a log file. You can also use the -wait option with the tail command to monitor the logs. With the -wait option, the specified number of lines are printed to the console every time the log is updated.

  1. In the connector server, open Windows PowerShell.
  2. Navigate to the folder that contains the log file.
  3. Enter the following command:

    Get-Content logFile -Tail numberOfLines –wait

    For example:

    Get-Content horizon.log -Tail 2 –wait
