To make Workspace ONE Access the authentication agent, the RSA SecurID security console must be configured with the host name and IP address of the Workspace ONE Access connector.

Prerequisites

  • Workspace ONE Access connector with the User Auth services installed. See the Installing VMware Workspace ONE Access Connector documentation.

Make sure that all User Auth service instances in your environment are Workspace ONE Access Connector version 21.08. You cannot configure User Auth authentication methods if you mix connector versions 21.08 and 20.x.

  • Verify that an RSA Authentication Manager appliance version 8.2 SP1 or later is installed and functioning on the enterprise network. For information about installing and configuring RSA Authentication Manager (RSA SecurID server), see RSA documentation.

Version 8.2 SP1 or later is required with Workspace ONE Access connector 21.08 or later. If you are using an earlier version of the connector, see earlier versions of the Managing User Authentication Methods in Workspace ONE Access guide for requirements.

Procedure

  • On a supported version of the RSA SecurID security console, add the Workspace ONE Access connector host name and IP address as an authentication agent. Enter the following information.
    Option Description
Hostname The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of Workspace ONE Access connector. For example, connectorserver.example.com.
Important: Beginning with Workspace ONE Access connector version 21.08, you must use the fully qualified domain name while adding the authentication agent. If you have already added the connector as an authentication agent using the NetBIOS name instead of the FQDN, add another entry using the FQDN. Leave the IP address field empty for the new entry. Do not delete the old entry.
IP address The IP address of Workspace ONE Access connector.
Alternate IP address If traffic from the connector passes through a network address translation (NAT) device to reach the RSA Authentication Manager server, enter the private IP address of the appliance.

What to do next

Go to the Workspace ONE Access console Integrations > Connector Authentication Methods page to configure RSA SecurID (cloud deployment).
