What's in the release notes?

Workspace ONE Intelligence Release Notes describe the new features and enhancements in each release. This page contains a summary of the new capabilities, issues that have been resolved, and known issues that have been reported. Use Workspace ONE Intelligence for enterprise mobility management (EMM) planning and automation, to optimize resources, strengthen security and compliance, and to enhance user experience across your environment.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.04.15

New Features

  • Groups in Freestyle Workflows are now GA.

    Use this feature to organize workflow actions into groups. 

    • The workflow engine executes actions in the group in parallel rather than sequentially.

    • Each group gets a unique name, which is convenient for filtering in logs.

    • You can have a maximum of five actions in a group.

    • The failure of an action in a group does not affect the other actions in the group.

  • Introducing App Performance, Application Crash, Application Hang, and Application Usage (Start/Exit/Foreground) telemetry support for Horizon VDI desktop sessions.

    • App Performance includes data for App Name, Version, CPU, Memory, and Disk Consumption

      • The system aggregates and displays data within Workspace ONE Intelligence, Experience Management for Horizon dashboards.

      • The system supports collecting network data for App Performance metrics.

      • In the Per Horizon Sessions Performance dashboards, find the top CPU and Memory consumption applications shown per Horizon session.

        • This data helps you understand which application is causing high CPU or Memory consumption for the Horizon session you are looking at. 

        • The system scores CPU and Memory resource consumption to help you understand application performance at the organization level.

    • Application Crash and Hang data offers insights into application stability at the organization level. 

      • These events are under the Employee Experience > Apps (Horizon) data category within Workspace ONE Intelligence.

      • You can check crashes or hangs in the dashboard under Apps for specific offending applications within Workspace ONE Intelligence.

    • Application Usage-related events provide insights into usage information for specific applications at the organization level.

      • These events are under the Employee Experience > Apps (Horizon) data category.

  • Conditions in Freestyle Workflows is now GA.

    The feature allows alternative paths for actions within a workflow and provides opportunity to consolidate multiple workflows into one. You can find more information in the Conditions section within Freestyle Orchestrator document.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Experience Management for Horizon with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.04.08

New Features

  • We made updates to Freestyle Orchestrator.

    • We made an update to the View Test Result section in the Freestyle Workflow Action Test wizard, to provide high level information like Execution Status and HTTP Status Code.

    • We also added detailed HTTP Responses to help with troubleshooting. This is especially helpful when the overall HTTP Status Code is a 200 series, but in the HTTP Response, there are details of certain failures or errors.

  • We're happy to announce the Workspace ONE Intelligence SDK 24.1.0 for iOS release.

    • With this new release for iOS, we are going beyond app analytics and adding the capabilities to collect advanced device, network, and battery telemetry.

    • This collection provides comprehensive insights into device performance, empowering IT teams to proactively enhance the digital experience for mobile device users.

  • We've add State Change events in Experience Management > Employee Experience.

    • Activate state change events to create historical reports or dashboards on hardware and driver update and driver issue events.

    • Create a widget that "overlays" system crashes with driver updates from various driver publishers to see if system crashes were caused by driver issues or updates.

  • We've added User and Organization Scores for macOS in Experience Management.

  • We’ve removed the API key environment variable from the Workspace ONE UEM integration OAuth2 configuration.

Resolved Issues

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.03.25

New Features

  • We've updated the Guided Root Cause Analysis (gRCA) feature to display specific raw data in reports.

    The raw data includes the gRCA results and devices that encounter the issue. Use this data in your reports to share gRCA results with colleagues. The data categories are rca_sample and rca_result.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-57454: Fixed an issue with Intelligence SDK data displayed in the console where battery entity information was not available in reports.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.03.18

New Features

  • We've updated the Guided Root Cause Analysis (gRCA) feature.

    The system now runs a gRCA when it identifies a suitable Slow Boot Time Insight and notifies you that it has found a useful analysis for the Insight (previously this was only available for OS Crash Insights).

  • Introducing Data Explorer with Limited Availability (LA), designed to empower users to explore data with ease and efficiency.

    • Quickly access information for pre-built queries and templates.

    • You will still have the flexibility to modify the generated data source or filters according to your preferences.

    • Explorations are temporary unless you save them as reports or widgets, all within the same feature. 

    • Access Data Explorer content for more details.

    • To participate in this LA, reach out to Support or to your VMware/Broadcom Technical Account Manager.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-56975: To reduce the confusion of configuring the Metric chart type and yielding wrong results in widgets, we removed the Frequency option.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.03.04

New Features

  • We've updated the Guided Root Cause Analysis (gRCA) feature.

    • The system now runs a gRCA when it identifies a suitable Insight and notifies you that it has found a useful analysis for the Insight (only OS Crash Insights for this release).

    • Select the Informational notification to view the gRCA results, or find the results in the Notification Center located in the console.

    • If you would like email notifications for Insights or gRCA completions, subscribe on the Notification Settings page. Notification settings are on a per admin basis.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-54397: Fixed an issue where temperatures in dashboards were not reported in the degree Celsius.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.02.20

New Features

  • We're happy to announce the Workspace ONE Intelligence SDK for Android 24.1.0 release.

    With this new release we are going beyond app analytics and adding the capabilities to collect advanced device, network, and battery telemetry. The Workspace ONE Intelligence SDK for Android now provides comprehensive insights into device performance, empowering IT teams to proactively enhance the digital experience for mobile device users. Existing customers can upgrade to the latest version by following the instructions outlined in the listed documentation.

  • We have added a new data attribute in Workspace ONE Intelligence for Microsoft AAD Device ID.

    • Use this new data attribute in your dashboards, reports, and workflows. Find the data point at Workspace ONE UEM > Devices > Microsoft AAD Device ID.

    • This data attribute retrieves the device AAD ID from Workspace ONE UEM so you can determine the device's Azure registration status. 

    Note: This data attribute is supported for Workspace ONE UEM version 2310 (patched at 23.10.0.4) or later, and the next UEM release (currently planned for 2402) or later.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.02.12

New Features

  • Introducing the Intelligence Custom Roles feature released with Limited Availability (LA)

    This feature supports creating custom, defined roles in Intelligence and assigning them to your users.

    • To participate in this LA, reach out to Support or to your VMware/Broadcom Representative, for example, your Technical Account Manager.

    • Note: This Custom Roles LA is limited to Intelligence tenants that have a premium license and are not CSP-enabled (Cloud Services Portal). We will target the rest of Intelligence tenants in a future release.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.02.05

New Features

  • Widget Overlays in Custom Dashboards is now GA. This feature supports overlaying two different historical data-sets in one widget. You can find more information in our widget overlays documentation.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-54790: We now use App Load events to calculate the App Last Foreground time per app, per device in Mobile App Usage data.

  • INTEL-55859: Fixed an issue where the Performance Summary line chart was not displaying in the device profile.

  • INTEL-55883: Fixed an issue where Device Performance charts were not displaying in dashboards.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.01.29

New Features

  • We've added data to Experience Management for when app UIs are unresponsive called the App UI Unresponsive Score.

Resolved Issues

  • We are always working to improve Workspace ONE Intelligence with every release. There are no major bug fixes to report.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 24.01.22

New Features

  • We updated the Devices Experience Score in Experience Management.

    • You can now select a date range to find devices that are offline or are not reporting Experience Management data.

    • Create a device health trend chart using the Distinct Count of Workspace ONE UEM Device GUID filter. Use this trend chart to see overall device health over time and to track the impact of changes in Workspace ONE UEM on device health.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-54279: Updated the Guided Root Cause Analysis feature so that when you create an Incident from an Insight, the system uses your metric (System Crash, App Crash, or Slow Boot) in the Root Cause Analysis menu item.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.12.11

New Features

  • We've added a new homepage in Workspace ONE Marketplace for Experience Management.

    Learn more about Experience Management offerings for Workspace ONE UEM, Horizon, and the Frontline Worker solution. We've added new content, demo videos, links to Tech Zone articles, and an Experience Management feature entitlement matrix.

  • Workspace ONE Intelligence now requires administrators to opt into collecting and storing advanced mobile telemetry, which includes all mobile app and device data collected using the Intelligence SDK.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.11.20

New Features

  • We have added Driver and Hardware data into the Guided Root Cause Analysis (RCA) algorithm for System Crashes.

    This new data allows our algorithm to find incompatible hardware and driver versions as potential root causes to OS Crashes. This data is in the algorithm by default.

  • We added a new Guided Root Cause Analysis (RCA) use case for Slow Booting Windows.

    We have released a new Guided RCA use case that allows you to find potential root causes of Slow Booting Windows machines with a click of a button. This new feature is located in the Incidents feature on the RCA tab. Simply select Slow Boot in the same drop-down as you would select the existing use cases of App Crash or System Crash.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.11.13

New Features

  • Introducing Widget Overlays in Custom Dashboards with Limited Availability (LA)

    This feature supports overlaying two different historical data-sets in one widget. Users can overlay using the following visualization types:

    • Vertical and Line

    • Line and Line

    Access Widget overlays (limited availability) for more details. To participate in this LA, reach out to Support or to your VMware Technical Account Manager.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.11.06

New Features

  • We’ve made updates to the UI for the widget creation and edit flows.

    • When you start selecting a category, you will now find the Preview area at the beginning of the flow.

    • We’ve added a toggle between normalized and the associated raw fields to avoid any duplication. Normalized fields will be displayed by default.

    • In the filter drop-down, only the primary category for attributes will be displayed by default, so it’s easily accessible. To see other categories, select SHOW ALL.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.10.30

New Features

  • Experience Management Insights (anomaly detection) is now integrated with the notification center in Workspace ONE cloud.

    Although you receive notifications of Insights in the notification center by default, you can also subscribe to email notifications that alert you to when an anomaly happens in your environment.

  • We have improved the experience for Intelligence tenants that have Data Access Policies activated.

    In these tenants, scheduled reports are now auto generated for report owners and won’t have the Generate step.

  • We have changed Intelligence Report Public Link Sharing to be activated or deactivated by the report owner only.

    If you are not the report owner, you can still see the link but you can’t modify it. This new feature applies to all Intelligence tenants.

  • Intelligence supports sending Zoom Team Chats with Freestyle with limited availability.

    Integrate Zoom Team Chat with Intelligence. You can then use Freestyle Orchestrator to create workflows to notify teams about various issues like poor experience scores, CPU and GPU usage, disk space, app crashes, poor device compliance, device enrollment statuses, or device-wipe commands.

  • We've added LAN Latency and WAN Latency for Horizon sessions.

    For Horizon Cloud Next-Gen deployments, LAN latency and WAN latency data can now be collected from Horizon client devices by Experience Management and reported to Workspace ONE Intelligence. We've added two widgets under Network/Protocol to help IT admins to understand LAN latency and WAN latency related to their Horizon sessions. 

    • LAN Latency Score: LAN latency is measured in milliseconds, which is latency between the Horizon client device and the local router. 

    • WAN Latency Score: WAN latency is measured in milliseconds, which is latency between the Horizon client device and the Google DNS server (8.8.8.8).

    Horizon Client and Agent version requirements:

    • Horizon Client: 2309

    • Horizon Agent: 2309

  • We've updated scoring for Windows OS crashes.

    Intelligence now reports Windows OS crashes based on the count rather than by the percentage.

  • We've added App Performance Scoring to Experience Management.

    Scoring includes data for Workspace ONE UEM-managed desktop apps and includes analytics for CPU, memory, and GPU usage.

  • We've added a new dashboard for Network Synthetic Testing for Experience Management.

    You can create synthetic URL testing for Workspace ONE UEM-managed devices. The feature supports HTTP and HTTPS test methods.

Resolved Issues

  • INTEL-52520: Fixed an issue with the error detail page for Desktop App Crash and Desktop App Hang to improve performance.

  • INTEL-52691: Changed the way machine temperature is reported in Intelligence from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Workspace ONE Intelligence 23.10.02

New Features

  • Global Search Enhancements

    We’ve made improvements to our global search field and search drop-down. When you type something into a specific search category, you can now switch between different categories (Apps, Freestyle, Dashboards, Devices, OS, Reports, Users, or Widgets) more easily.

Resolved Issues
