Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.06 for Android

  • When the user of an Android device changes their passcode, Intelligent Hub triggers a new sample to report the status to the Workspace ONE UEM Console to ensure the most up to date information is available for Compliance or Reporting.
  • Introducing the ability to see the size and version of mobile apps available in the list view and overflow menu.
    • NOTE: Requires Workspace ONE UEM Console 2102 or later.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.05 for Android

  • When using Launcher in check-in check-out, you can now clear Android Accounts on the device in addition to clearing app data and the device passcode when the user completes their session and checks in the device. (Available with Android 8.0 or later and requires Workspace ONE UEM Console 21.05.)
  • When deciding what enrollment flows best fit your use-case, you can now use Single-User Staging (Standard) when enrolling COPE devices. (Requires Workspace ONE UEM Console 21.05)
  • You can now push and silently install an OS update on any Android 10 or later Work Managed device using Products. Work with your OEM to retrieve the correct OS Update package for your device.
  • The Serial Number is now reported correctly on all Samsung devices, with the exception of certain affected models in Work Profile mode.
  • We are now encrypting usernames in the Hub app to enhance security.
  • People Tab experience improvements including:
    • Containerization of the sections on the main page
    • Pull to refresh functionality
    • Updated empty/error states
    • Tweaked search experience with suggested text and icon
    • Consistent ordering of attributes
    • Consistent ordering of direct reports

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.04 for Android

  • Allow User to Modify Location Settings (Android 9.0 or later with Custom XML only).
  • Updated to Workspace ONE SDK 20.11.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.03 for Android

  • WebSDK is disabled for Workspace ONE Intelligent 21.03 for Android due to issues seen in Tunneling and high battery and high storage usage. Learn more here
  • Support for more than five services: If an admin has enabled all six services (Apps, People, Favorites, Support, For You and Home), Hub combines "Apps" and "People" into a new tab called "Explore" to adhere with mobile standards.
  • Hub now supports performing actions on P0 notifications removing the necessity to open Hub for all notifications that require actions. 
    • If additional authentication is required, users will be prompted to open Hub to complete authentication
  • New restriction for Android 11 COPE devices to set a maximum number of days the user can disable the Work Profile.

  • VPN Always On Lockdown Allow List - Grant certain apps ability to bypass VPN in the case that VPN is disconnected.  Supported on Android 10 or later in all Android enrollment modes.
    • Hub is always included in the Allow list and does not need to be included in the list of package IDs.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.02 for Android

  • Introduced Shared devices with Secondary Users (Native Check-In Check-Out) functionality.
  • Send updated Profile sample for all profile changes.
  • Provided a more streamlined single app experience with the Workspace ONE Web SDK integration with Hub.
    • Web settings are applied to the Home Tab and Helpful Links in the Support Tab to allow accessing intranet sites through the UAG. Additionally, links in the For You tab can now be opened in-line in Hub. With this functionality, there is Integrated Authentication for websites and SDK DLP policies to protect corporate data.
      • To enable tunneling in Hub:
        • Deploy a UAG or use the existing UAG deployment in the environment.
        • Under the SDK settings, enable App Tunnel and select VMware Tunnel as the tunneling mode.
        • Specify the Device Traffic rules for Hub and list the domain/sites that need to be tunneled in Hub.
        • Ensure that Hub is assigned from the Workspace ONE UEM console and has an SDK profile associated with it.
  • Implemented App Icon Customization: Allows an admin to select from a curated set of Hub icon colors to be the icon that appears on the mobile device's springboard. This feature will be configurable at Branding section in the Workspace ONE Hub Services console. Note: This feature is limited to Android 10+
  • Enhancements to the Deep Linking Framework: Additional capabilities to deep link into a person's profile on the People Tab.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.01 for Android

  • Android support for Telecom Data Usage Reporting.
  • Android support for delegating a certificate installer using SDK Custom Profile.
  • Samsung Android 11 COPE OEM Profile Support and Automatic Migration.
  • Ability to disable FTUX/Education Screens.
    • Admin will now have the ability to disable the introductory screens, also known as the First Time User Experience (FTUX) screens from appearing during the Intelligent Hub enrollment. This feature will be configurable at System Settings in the Workspace ONE Hub Services console.
      • NOTE: Hub Services update will be required to leverage this feature.
  • Deep Linking Framework to navigate into sections of the Hub app.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.11 for Android

  • Enable clear passcode capability using Direct Boot with FCM.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.10 for Android

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.08 for Android

  • Support pausing and resuming file transfers after device reboot using FTP/SFTP/FTPS).
  • Improve Restrictions and Passcode profiles to avoid conflict with features using setKeyGuardDisabledFeatures() API.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.07 for Android

  • HUB-4483: Support for 3rd Party and Internal Apps via Hub Catalog in Registered Mode.
    • Download and installation of apps will be triggered through Hub rather than being redirected to a browser experience.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.06 for Android

  • Native Date/Time configuration.
    • Requires Android 9+ and either custom XML or future console release
  • Workspace ONE to Intelligent Hub Migration.
    • Access customers who have deployed the Workspace ONE app for Android can now seamlessly move their end users to Intelligent Hub. By meeting the prerequisites, end users will not be required to re-enroll or re-register their device, they just simply need to begin using the new Intelligent Hub app. There are three different Workspace ONE app enrollment cases to be accounted for; this guide provides information how to successfully move users from Workspace ONE app to Intelligent Hub for each.
  • Support for enrollment-specific Workspace ONE Access Policies.
    • Admin now has the ability to specify a separate authentication policy for device enrollments and Intelligent Hub now supports this new configuration
  • Verify (Multi-factor Authentication) in Intelligent Hub via Workspace ONE Access.
    • With the new Verify (Intelligent Hub) authentication adaptor, Workspace ONE now includes the industry’s first multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution built directly into the digital workplace. Users can leverage Intelligent Hub on their mobile devices to take action on push multi-factor authentication requests without ANY additional end user setup. This can be combined with Risk-Based conditional access for an adaptive MFA experience. Existing VMware Verify customers are encouraged to upgrade to the new embedded MFA experience within the Intelligent Hub app.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.05 for Android

  • Remove authentication prompt when transitioning from SDK SSO PIN disabled to enabled.
    • Whereas previously all SSO transitions required authentication, now Hub will mirror our other SDK applications to no longer require authentication when setting up your first SSO PIN
  • Workspace ONE Access support for Auto Enrollment.
    • Auto-enrollment flows such as QR code, Zero-Touch, and Knox Mobile Enrollment will now redirect users to Workspace ONE Access if that is the configured authentication mode.
      • If this redirection is not desired you can revert the authentication setting to UEM or include the following Provisioning Extra or custom JSON into your QR code, Zero Touch, or KME configuration: use UEMAuthentication":"true"
  • Network Logging (requires a future release of WS1 UEM Console).
  • Enable or Disable Autofill (requires custom XML or a future release of WS1 UEM Console).
  • Ability to disable Secure start-up option for users when they are setting PIN on Android (requires custom XML or a future release of WS1 UEM Console).
  • Android Legacy to Android Work Managed (DA to DO) Migration for Zebra devices (requires WS1 UEM Console 2006 or higher).
  • Opening App Details from New Apps Notification.
    • Intelligent Hub provides the ability to launch from the New App Notification into the App Details in the Apps tab, rather than rendering a hybrid UI.
  • Dynamic Privacy Screens in Hub
    • Intelligent Hub has now has the Privacy Web Clip embedded in the Privacy section and post enrollment/registration, if there are modifications to the device privacy posture, the end user will be notified of the changes
  • Urgent Notification Card Update
    • Urgent Notification card receives a UI uplift by filling the entire screen and allowing the end users the ability to more effectively digest the critical information.
  • Enabling of SSO does not force reauthentication ahead of setting passcode.
  • Hub Passport
    • Intelligent Hub supports the Passport Service.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.04 for Android

  • People SDK (Native UI)
    • Similar to the App Tab, the People Tab has gotten revamped. In this version, the People Tab is switched to an updated UI rendering, providing an experience that is more responsive and consistent with Android UI frameworks.
  • Order Device Flow in Hub Assistant
    • The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub virtual assistant provides a conversational interface to help employees get answers to questions and complete workflows. It leverages the Workspace ONE mobile flows platform to integrate with third-party systems, similar to Hub Notifications.
    • We added a new skill that Hub Assistant can help with.
      • Order devices through ServiceNow – Users can select devices by category from the ServiceNow catalog (Desktops, Laptops, Mobiles, Tablets), view device details, and add items to the shopping cart. Upon checkout, this creates a ticket for the user and go through normal approval flows.
  • For You - New Layout for the Notification Tab
    • Introducing “For You” which replaces the Notification tab with a brand-new modernized page layout. This layout presents notifications in a way that is easy to discover what is important and easy to digest.
      • Priority – on top of the page will display notifications that are sent as high priority (P1) to always keep what is more important on top.
      • Actionable – is for notifications that require users to take an action such as taking a mandatory training or approving an expense report.
      • Informational – to not overwhelm users with good-to-know information, informational notifications will be at the bottom of the page. Once users view those notification cards, the badge count automatically decreases to match the innovative behavior patterns from LinkedIn and other popular applications.
      • NOTE: Urgent (P0) notification functionality remains the same. The weekly New App Notification will be grouped under the Informational section.
  • Require device password for only the certificates that contain a password.
  • Intelligent Hub and Assist to share the same KNOX license keys.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.03 for Android

  • Report OEMConfig Apps without launcher icons as installed in the Console, normally "headless" apps are ignored in app samples.
  • Allow Optional Prompts during auto enrollment, for example custom Terms of Use during Zero Touch enrollment.
  • Ignore Service application requirement for LG Android 9+ devices.
  • Update Location API used for Android Devices to use new Fused API in Google Play Services.
  • Favorites Tab
    • The Favorites Tab replaces the Favorites Section in the Apps Tab. It serves as a dedicated view of your favorited apps.
    • NOTE: If Favorites is enabled via Hub Services, along with more features, Intelligent Hub will display only the first 5.
  • Hub Assistant
    • The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Assistant is a virtual assistant that can help employees complete workflows and find answers to company questions through a friendly, conversational chatbot experience. The virtual assistant is powered by IBM Watson for natural language processing and uses VMware Mobile Flows to integrate with third-party systems.
    • NOTE: Hub Assistant integration is required on Hub Services.
  • Microsoft Compliance Support
    • Integration with Microsoft and Workspace ONE for conditional access policies based on UEM compliance status.

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 20.02 for Android

  • Allow enterprise wipe command to be processed during Direct Boot.
