  • Native UI for the For You Tab along with other notification enhancements

    • We are introducing a revamped For You Tab experience. We switched from a web-rendered notifications to a native notifications experience. This means that the experience in the For You Tab is more responsive and consistent with Android UI framework. Also, data is cached locally, so you can still view received notifications and those in the History section offline.
    • Persistent Notification (Sticky Card)
      • A persistent notification is a sticky notification card that persists on top of the For You page in the Intelligent Hub for a defined duration of time. Once the duration of time expires, this sticky notification card is moved to the History page automatically.
  • Rebranded Passport to Digital Badge
    • The admin console and user mobile experience have been updated to state “Digital Badge”. The current functionality of the feature remains unaffected.
  • Decrease Knox License Activation Time
    • Available on XCover Pro devices running G715U1UEU8BUE7 or later (Android 11 build released in late May).
    • Will be available on other devices in a future OS update.
  • Security Logging available for Fully Managed Devices
    • In the WS1 UEM Console, navigate to to Device Details and send a Request Device Log command.
      • Select Security as the log source
      • Once logs have been reported by the device (this can take up to 120 minutes), the security logs are available in Device Details > More > Attachments > Documents.
    • This feature is supported on Android 7 and higher, fully managed devices.
    • The UEM console currently shows 90 minute increments for the duration options, but Security Logs work in 120 minute increments. This is a known issue which will be fixed in a future console release.
    • If the device was enrolled via ADB (using set-device-owner) or via Zebra StageNow, the device requires a reboot before Security Logging can be enabled.

Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 21.07 for Android

  • Introducing support for Android 12 device enrollments and upgrades on Android Enterprise
    • VMware automatically updates the device seed data in our Workspace ONE UEM Console on SaaS to support Android 12 enrollments, enrollment restrictions, and any filters targeting Android 12. Your environment must be updated for enrollments to be successful. In case the seed data is needed for an On-Premise environment, please refer to the knowledge base article.
    • It is highly recommended to test all functionality related to your management use-cases to ensure a smooth upgrade experience for your user
    • Please refer to our knowledge base article for more details on expected behavior changes on Android 12.
  • [Beta (disabled by default)] Native UI for the For You Tab along with other notification enhancements
    • Native UI
      • We are introducing a revamped For You Tab experience. In this version, we switched from a web-rendered notifications to a native notifications experience. This means that the experience in the For You Tab is now more responsive and consistent with Material Design for Android. Also, the data is cached locally so you can still view received notifications and those in the History section offline.
    • Links, Images, Video
      • Hub can now display a banner in the notification card containing an image or video. Link objects are now also supported in the notification. Link objects are a new element that can be used to display one or more (up to 10) links inside of a notification card. To add one of these elements to the notification, you will need to use the banner or links payload in the body of the notification API call. These new elements are currently not configurable through the notification builder in the admin UI and are only available through API invocation.
    • Persistent Notification (Sticky Card)
      • We heard from many of you about the need for daily corporate communication during this pandemic. To cater to this need, we are introducing a new type of notification called persistent notification. A persistent notification is a sticky notification card that will persist on top of the For You page in the Intelligent Hub for a defined duration of time. Once the duration of time defined by you expires, this sticky notification card will be moved to the History page automatically.
  • [Beta (disabled by default)] Web SDK Integration
    • With the Workspace ONE Web SDK integrated into Hub, in-app tunneling and browsing provides a more streamlined, single app experience.
      • Web settings are applied to the Home Tab and in the future, Helpful Links in the Support Tab to allow accessing intranet sites via the UAG. Additionally, in a future release links in the For You tab as well as Web/SaaS apps can now be opened in-line in Hub. With this functionality, there is Integrated Authentication for websites and SDK DLP policies to protect corporate data.
