In cases where you are deploying VMware Identity Manager Service for fewer than 1,000 users, you can deploy a single server running the service.

Important:

This deployment is not the recommended deployment for the VMware Identity Manager Service. Review the Workspace ONE UEM Recommended Architecture Guide for more information on preferred deployment methods of the VMware Identity Manager Service.

Workspace ONE UEM relies on the VMware Identity Manager Service for important use cases such as the application catalog, Single-Sign On, and conditional access. If the single server is unable to communicate, you cannot use key Workspace ONE UEM features until the server can successfully communicate with your Workspace ONE UEM solution.

A single server has the following hardware requirements:

Single VMware Identity Manager Server (Fewer Than 1,000 Devices)
CPU 2 CPU cores
RAM 6 GB
Disk Space 50 GB

VMware Enterprise Systems Connector

If you are deploying a single VMware Identity Manager server, you can deploy the VMware Enterprise Systems Connector on a single server.

Important:

This deployment is not the recommended deployment. Review the Workspace ONE UEM Recommended Architecture Guide for more information on preferred deployment methods of the VMware Enterprise Systems Connector.
